ALGIERS- The new president of the Audiovisual Regulatory Authority (ARAV), replacing Miloud Chorfi, will be known “soon” and his appointment is the prerogative of President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika, said Monday in Algiers Communication Minister, Hamid Grine.“The appointment of the new president of ARAV falls within the prerogative of the president. His name will be known soon and timely,” said Grine, on the sidelines of the Exhibition of caricatures at Culture Palace, paying tribute to Chorfi for his work at the head of this body.
For now, the Ministry of Communication has “all the powers” regarding the tasks of the authority, said Grine, adding that “the work continues normally.”
The replacement of Chorfi, who chaired this body since September 2014, comes as a result of his appointment at the Council of Nation’s Presidential Tiers Group.
