Parliament: Vote on draft constitutional revision on Sunday, says Sellal

ALGIERS- Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal said Tuesday in Algiers that the Parliamentary session (upper and lower houses) to be devoted to the vote on the draft revision of the Constitution will take place next Sunday.“The vote on the draft revised Constitution will take place on Sunday 7 February,” Sellal told the press on the sidelines of the closing of the Parliament’s fall session.
President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika signed Saturday a decree to summon a joint sitting of the two houses of the Parliament on Wednesday 3 February for a session on the draft revised Constitution.
“Following the announcement by the Constitutional Council that the draft revised Constitution may be submitted to the Parliament, in accordance with the Article 176 of the Constitution, President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika signed today, Saturday 30 January 2016, a decree to summon a joint sitting of the two houses of parliament on 3 February 2016,” said a communiqué of the Presidency of the Republic.
The joint Parliament session will be devoted to the draft revised Constitution and will remain open until all items on the session’s agenda are addressed, added the communiqué.
